Will Arnett to play a self-proclaimed “guru” for Netflix

Joining comedic peers like Tina Fey, the Wet Hot American Summer gang, and everyone else who isn’t currently meeting with Amazon, Will Arnett is reportedly developing a new eight-episode series, Flaked, for Netflix. Building on his experience with both illusions and narcissistic SoCal types, Arnett will play Chip, a self-proclaimed “guru” who falls in love with the object of his best friend’s affections. Soon, “the tangled web of half-truths and semi-bullshit that underpins his all-important image and sobriety begins to unravel,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Flaked will be co-created by Arnett and The Increasingly Poor Decisions Of Todd Margaret’s Mark Chappell, with Arrested Development’s Mitch Hurwitz, Peter Principato, and Ben Silverman, whose Electus Entertainment recently produced Jane The Virgin and Netflix’s Marco Polo, executive producing. This is Arnett’s third major project for Netflix, which also saved Arrested Development from cancellation and produced BoJack Horseman, in which Arnett was impeccably cast as a drunk horse.
