Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis to play the first completely idiotic candidates in the history of politics

Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis, two paragons of the overconfident fuck-up school of comedy, will apply that natural fallibility to roles as rival political candidates in a new film from Jay Roach, who has finally found a way to combine the bureaucratic absurdity of his Emmy-winning Recount with the regular, asinine absurdity of Dinner With Schmucks. The as-yet-untitled film will be co-written by two other guys well-versed in unjustified egotism—The Other Guys’ Chris Henchy and Eastbound And Down’s Shawn Harwell—and ideally completed just in time for the 2012 presidential elections, when it will serve as much-needed comic relief to what will surely be a very staid and reasonable political discourse.
