Will Ferrell hospitalized after late-night car accident
Will Ferrell was hospitalized following a serious car accident last night in Orange County, California. The actor was being chaffeured home from a Funny or Die event for Glam Up The Midterms—the get-out-the-vote drive started by Billy Eichner, where Ferrell had appeared in character as Ron Burgundy—when the car he was riding in collided with another along Interstate 5. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ferrell’s car was hit by another automobile, resulting in the vehicle containing Ferrell and three other people flipping over.
Footage taken at the scene showed Ferrell was conscious as he was loaded into an ambulance, and subsequent reports say the actor is doing well and has subsequently been released from the hospital. While two other passengers also suffered minor injuries, a woman also riding in the car is said to have sustained “major injuries.” The driver of the other car was unharmed and released without being detained or ticketed.
