Will Forte's Grandma Makes A Good Trailer
From Will Forte comes the latest entry into the great, ongoing viral comedy video debate, "Which is funnier: toddlers that say "bitch," or grandmas used for promotional purposes?"
After watching the following video, I think it's safe to say that there is no contest. An elderly grandma forced to repeat the name "Bob Odenkirk" over and over again on camera until she gets it right will always trump a loudmouthed baby cop in terms of hilarity. (Don't worry, though. 80 years from now Pearl McKay will be funny in Internet videos again. It's the circle of comedy life.)
Really, grandparents are a vast, untapped promotional resource. In fact, I hope this video ushers in a new wave of movie promotion. Instead of a trailer, various elderly relatives of the stars of an upcoming movie should be placed in front of a camera to talk about the film with just one directive, "Be old."
The end product would be much funnier than a conventional trailer–and we'd finally get to hear what Christian Bale's grandpa really thinks about 3:10 To Yuma!
