Will & Grace & David Schwimmer, together at last

Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Thursday, October 4. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

Will & Grace (NBC, 9 p.m.): This revival didn’t start out in peak form, precisely, but it found its footing by season’s end. It found something else in the off-season, or to be specific, someone else: a Friends alumnus. Tonight’s 10th season premiere features David Schwimmer, back in New York and squaring off with a somewhat neurotic woman with a famous hairdo, so if you’re looking for a comfortably familiar evening of television, boy oh boy, has NBC got a program for you. Gwen Inhat will be on hand to comment on Karen Walker’s cocktail choices while hopefully stirring up one of her own.

Regular coverage

The Good Place (NBC, 8:30 p.m.)
How To Get Away With Murder (ABC, 10 p.m.)

Wild card

Superstore (NBC, 8 p.m.): The last season of Superstore ended with a will-they, won’t-they transforming into an oh-they-will-and-it-will-be-livestreamed cliffhanger, so we’re particularly eager to see how Jonah and Amy will deal with the fallout. Meanwhile, poor old Jeff will try really hard to get himself back in Mateo’s good graces. Nico Santos had a big summer thanks to Crazy Rich Asians, but every Superstore fan already knew him for the delight he is, and he, and the rest of Superstore’s excellent cast, are always a welcome presence in NBC’s comedy lineup.
