Will Smith is set to star in the Groundhog Day-esque science-fiction thriller Selling Time… probably. There’s no official deal in place yet, but Smith is reportedly very close to signing on to screenwriter Dan McDermott’s story about a man who trades seven years of his own life expectancy for the opportunity to relive the worst day of his life, presumably while also attempting to fix it. However, Smith has been attached to the project once before several years ago, eventually moving on due to scheduling conflicts, so it’s unclear whether he’ll actually make it this time. And as is known all too well by Roland Emmerich—whose Independence Day sequel currently exists in a quantum state of simultaneously starring and not starring Will Smith—you can never know for sure whether Will Smith will be in your movie.
