Things might not have worked out with that live-action Dumbo movie, but Will Smith might head up a Disney movie after all. Deadline reports the actor is in talks to play the genie in the forthcoming live-action Aladdin movie. Guy Ritchie is set helm a whole new world as the director of the film, which is currently looking for a fabulous he to star in the lead role. Disney has yet to announce who will play Aladdin and Jasmine, but the audition call was for talented actors of Middle Eastern descent, so it appears the studio’s trying to head off any casting issues. Big Fish’s John August has written the screenplay for the new film, which will reportedly begin shooting in the U.K. this July.
