The first half of The Walking Dead’s eighth season wrapped up on Sunday with one impending death: Carl was bitten by a zombie. A few other notable storylines from this season came to a head—the Kingdom and Alexandria both fell, Maggie got hardcore, and King Ezekiel regained his mojo. But the first half of this season felt meandering and overlong. Should we expect the same when The Walking Dead returns in 2018?
