Willie Nelson is getting his own variety show

Willie Nelson is bringing his pothead pepaw stylings to his own nighttime variety show. So far, the Redheaded Stranger’s show hasn’t been picked up, but his nephew told Rolling Stone that Nelson will tape about 13 episodes of Inside Arlyn and that “several cable outlets” are interested. The series will find Nelson inviting pals and fellow musicians into Austin’s Arlyn Studios, which are not so coincidentally co-owned by his aforementioned nephew. There, the pals will chat and play songs together, and do whatever else people do in a recording studio when being filmed for TV.

So far, Inside Arlyn has booked both Merle Haggard and Gary Clark, Jr. Haggard and Nelson are currently at work on a collaborative album, though information about that project is still forthcoming.
