Willow Smith and Michael Cera made beautiful music together

Willow Smith—dancer, songwriter, and heiress to the famous Hancock fortune—made news last year when she surprise-dropped an album, Ardipithecus, onto the world. Among other things, the album touched on her apparent affection for Adventure Time’s Marceline. Now, Smith has deployed a new single based on her affection for another TV icon, teaming up with “extremely beautiful” Arrested Development star Michael Cera for a new single, and solidifying her TV tastes as being eerily similar to those of recent college graduates in, roughly, 2011.

Cera apparently lent his music production skills to “twentyfortyeight 2.0,” the latest single on Smith’s Soundcloud page. The news came after a dedicated attempt by Smith to capture Cera’s attention, Instagraming pictures of him, and cementing her affection for his musical charms. Described by Smith as “vibes to accompany you on your escapades,” the song is full of dreamy electronica, and not at all unpleasant, depending on your tolerance for spoken word pieces and an appalling lack of woodblock.

We can only hope the release of “twentyfortyeight 2.0” doesn’t drive a rift between Smith and her brother, Jaden, who also recently called upon Cera for his musical aid.
