As pioneers of both melodic-hardcore and pop-punk, the Descendents have cast a long shadow over the scenes they helped form: It’s easy to find the crude line drawing of vocalist Milo Aukerman tattooed on fans who have affection for either of those genres, even if Descendents have always remained a bit of a cult phenomenon. Taking that kind of devotion to the next level, directors Matt Riggle and Deedle LaCour put together a full-length documentary on both Descendents and its offshoot brother band All, allowing for the band members to tell their story, while fans and fellow musicians offer up kind words about the bands that have offered endless amounts of inspiration.
