Win an Ex Machina DVD and limited edition poster
One of cinema’s biggest surprises this year was Ex Machina, a twisty, close-quarters sci-fi thriller with some big ideas and a trio of fantastic performances from Oscar Isaac, Alicia Vikander, and Domhnall Gleeson. First-time director Alex Garland (the writer of 28 Days Later, Never Let Me Go, and more) impressed with his stylish visuals and sly script. In our recent AVQ&A, Erik Adams called the film his favorite piece of media so far this year, stating “Ex Machina is as small-scale as cinematic speculative fiction gets, a neat throwback to heady ’70s sci-fi with distinct reflections of our modern age.” It’s a definite must-see for genre fans and it’s hitting shelves today (July 14) on Blu-ray and DVD. In honor of the release, The A.V. Club and Lionsgate Home Entertainment are giving away three copies of the film on DVD along with a limited edition poster illustrated by comic book artist Francesco Francavilla. For your chance to win the DVD and poster, simply send an email to [email protected] with the subject line “Ex Machina.” Be sure to include your name and mailing address within the body of the email. On Friday, July 17, we’ll select three winners from eligible entries and notify them via email shortly thereafter. Estimated retail value of the DVD is $19.98. And, for your viewing enjoyment, below you can watch Oscar Isaac and Sonoyo Mizuno’s amazing choreographed dance scene from the movie.
