Winterfell mourns in the antepenultimate episode of That’s So Sansa
Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Sunday, May 5. All times are Eastern.
Top pick
Game Of Thrones (HBO, 9 p.m.): For the survivors (many survivors) of the Battle Of Winterfell and “The Long Night,” it’s time to mourn, to drink, and to turn their eyes southward.
Doubtless, the battle (to say nothing of the relay race of bombshell information that passed from Sam to Jon, and from Jon to Dany) will dramatically shift the dynamics within the alliance of the living, so while this episode may not be an 82-minute extremely expensive battle scene, it’s bound to be pretty damn eventful. And that makes Gay Of Thrones more indispensable than ever.
This week’s episode of Jonathan Van Ness’ webseries for Funny Or Die won’t appear until later this week, but for now, you can content yourself with last week’s, featuring Gabrielle Union. As for the main event, our newbies and experts reviews will be up just as soon as we check the Mailbag Of Thrones and update the dead pool.
Regular coverage
The Simpsons (Fox, 8 p.m.)
Killing Eve (BBC America and AMC, 8 p.m.)
Supergirl (The CW, 8 p.m.)
Bob’s Burgers (Fox, 8:30 p.m.)
Billions (Showtime, 9 p.m.)
Barry (HBO, 10:20 p.m.)
Veep (HBO, 10:50 p.m)
Wild card
The Spanish Princess (Starz, 8 p.m., series premiere): The latest Philippa Gregory adaptation from Starz and Emma Frost—following the Rebecca Ferguson-starring The White Queen and The White Princess, which featured a pre-Villanelle Jodie Comer—centers on Catherine of Aragon (Charlotte Hope) and her retinue, including Lina (Stephanie Levi-John), a fellow noblewoman of Spain, who is of African Iberian descent. Downton Abbey’s Laura Carmichael is also around.
It’s a great cast, and those three in particular are excellent, so if you’re a fan of history, dresses, compelling female characters, and extremely dewy complexions, you know your path.
