Wonder Woman 2 scores a December 2019 release date
Clearly aware that Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman is the studio’s most critically and commercially accepted D.C. movie adaptation to date, Warner Bros. has wasted very little time setting the wheels in motion for a sequel. We’ve already reported that Jenkins is working with Geoff Johns on a treatment idea for a sequel, the company flashed up the film’s logo during its big sizzle reel at Comic-Con, and now we’ve finally got an official release date. Per Variety, Wonder Woman 2 will slash its way into theater on December 13, 2019.
The studio has yet to reveal any details about the film, although exec Toby Emmerich has suggested that the film will be another period piece, albeit one closer in time to the present day than the first film’s World War I. Gal Gadot is already on contract for a sequel, although the studio has yet to sign anything official to bring Jenkins back on to direct.
