That's right, Woody's directing a comic opera, Gianni Schicchi, to run in 2008, for the Los Angeles Opera, no less. But at least he's honest, releasing a statement that "I have no idea what I'm doing." Perhaps better suited to the elaborate melodrama of the opera, William Friedkin will direct two others in the company's season. So if you have a few hundred to burn on opera tickets, by all means indulge your curiousity. (Associated Press)
