Wrong invokes Cold War fears in the video for “Mucilage”
Considering the band features former members of Kylesa and Torche, it’d be easy to infer what kind of sludgy goodness Wrong deals in. However, the Miami band also does a good job of subverting those expectations by channeling the likes of such acts as Unsane and Helmet. On April 29, Relapse Records will release the band’s self-titled debut, and the band will kick off a tour with Nothing and Culture Abuse this summer. But today The A.V. Club is premiering the video for “Mucilage.” Here, Wrong plays into the past nuclear panic by juxtaposing vintage clips against its own destructive force. “Mucilage” lumbers heavily as Wrong takes a dense riff and attacks it from every possible angle, making it into an alt-metal behemoth in the process.
Pre-orders for Wrong are available now through Relapse Records.
