Wyclef Jean has officially abandoned his bid to become Haiti’s newest president, finally caving to the opinions of Sean Penn. Or rather, the fact that the Haitian electoral council left him off the ballot—due, presumably, to Jean being a New Jersey-based celebrity instead of someone who actually lives in their country —which so angered Jean that he wrote a fun little ditty about it claiming that the council is under the sway of Satan. Chalk up another win for the devil, we guess. But don’t worry about Wyclef: According to his publicist, “he’s leaving Haitian politics to promote a new album,” the timing of which is certainly serendipitous.
