X-Men: Apocalypse’s Lana Condor joins Alita: Battle Angel

Though most of her scenes as Jubilee in X-Men: Apocalypse were cut, Lana Condor now has another big-screen adaptation that will hopefully make up for that injustice. According to Variety, she has just joined the cast of director Robert Rodriguez’s Alita: Battle Angel, joining Christoph Waltz, Jackie Earle Haley, Rosa Salazar, and Deadpool’s Ed Skrein—who is also a veteran of the X-Men universe. Based on Yukito Kishiro’s similarly named manga series (Battle Angel Alita), the film is set in a dystopian future and follows the adventures of an amnesiac cyborg as she becomes a badass bounty hunter.

Condor will reportedly be playing a character named Koyomi who is described as “an orphaned teen with connections to several characters.” That may not sound as cool as being a cyborg bounty hunter, but somebody has to play the orphan with connections to several characters. Either way, Condor is probably just hoping that her best parts don’t get cut this time.
