Yann Tiersen faces the apocalypse with the video for “A Midsummer Evening”
French multi-instrumentalist and composer Yann Tiersen is just about to release a new solo record, his eighth. Infinity helps Tiersen buck the “Amélie composer” label with its punk references and Joy Division airs, something that should be evident in the clip for “A Midsummer Evening,” which The A.V. Club is premiering below. Framing the song against a man who wakes up on the cusp of some sort of cataclysmic event, the clip is the work of director Marcus Herring, who’s also made clips for Kavinsky and Rooney.
Tiersen is touring North America starting May 25, and dates are below.
