Yes, there will be a Tron: Legacy sequel
The nostalgia subroutine that produced an “IF %Global.Box.Office% >= $400,000,000 GOTO SEQUEL” output for Tron: Legacy continues to cycle, with Disney now hiring a new writer to take over their newest potential franchise. David DiGilio will script the follow-up, inheriting the reboot from Adam Horowitz and Adam Kitsis, who are currently tied up with their ABC show Once Upon A Time. DiGilio is a mostly unproven writer, although he did write the Paul Walker dog movie Eight Below, not that that tells you much, probably. He’s also reportedly just sold a sci-fi drama to Showtime called Last H.O.P.E., which stands for Last Hospital On Planet Earth and is described as a “cross between Mad Max and M*A*S*H,” which sounds hilarious. Anyway, expect the director, stars, and other numbers in the Tron array to begin filling in shortly.
