Yo La Tengo announces new cover-heavy LP
Yo La Tengo has announced plans to release a new album later this year. Stuff Like That There is due August 28 on Matador and is the sonic sister to the group’s Fakebook record, in that it’ll be composed of cover songs, “covers” of the group’s own songs, and brand new originals. The album also marks the return of former YLT member Dave Schramm, who contributes electric guitar.
The band will also tour around the album, with a fairly extended run kicking off September 23 in Troy, New York. Most of the tour will be done acoustically, with Ira Kaplan on acoustic guitar, Georgia Hubley on a small drum kit, and James McNew on upright bass. A full rundown of all the group’s upcoming dates is below.
Stuff Like That There is available for pre-order now via Matador. All early purchasers will receive both a Yo La Tengo tote bag and a brand new cassingle featuring previously unreleased songs from the band.
