Yo La Tengo's Ira Kaplan has "serious health scare," still plans to play band's annual Hanukkah shows
In a post on Yo La Tengo's website, Ira Kaplan pulls the old "package bad news with good news" trick, promising that the band's annual Hanukkah shows at Maxwell's in Hoboken, N.J. are still on in spite (here it comes) a recent "serious health scare." Kaplan doesn't go into specifics, and insists that he's "well on the way to recovery," but his condition will affect the shows, as Kaplan will have to perform while sitting down. "Our sets will undoubtedly be tweaked accordingly," Kaplan says. "In other words, if you were hoping to be in attendance for our annual airing of 'Mushroom Cloud of Hiss,' I’m afraid that is now zooming up the Unlikely chart with a bullet. But we’re confident that it’s going to be a great eight days. We’re looking forward to seeing you all, and to not answering any questions about what happened to me!" [via PrefixMag]
