John Lennon was a man who loved a handful of things very deeply, like writing dark songs that directly contrasted the whimsical delight of Paul McCartney, imagining what things would be like if we had nothing to kill or die for (and no religion too), and, of course, round glasses. However, there is one thing he loved even more than round glasses: peace, and peace-related imagery. Yoko Ono certainly remembers this about him, so to celebrate what would’ve been her late husband’s 75th birthday, she has decided to assemble 6,000 to 10,000 people and form the world’s largest human peace sign in Central Park’s East Meadow. That comes from Rolling Stone, which points out that—assuming Ono can reach her goal—the stunt will be large enough to claim a Guinness World Record. On top of that, Ono and Imagine Peace will be collecting donations for the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, a mobile recording facility that teaches kids about music. The peace sign formation will occur on October 6th with registration ending at noon (you can register early here), so if you want to be involved get there before that or John Lennon’s ghost will haunt you forever.
