Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Tuesday, May 14. All times are Eastern.

New Girl (Fox, 9 p.m.): A.V. Club readers have been inundated with New Girl content in recent days, so this’ll be the last time was say this: New Girl is closing out network comedy’s finest season tonight, with a big wedding-episode blowout that’s a fitting victory lap for the show’s past 25 episodes. Don’t believe us? Just ask Fox’s “For Your Consideration” page for the show, where quotes from Erik Adams’ reviews make the case that New Girl is both “hysterical” and “excellent”—two words he’s known to just at random passersby as well.

So You Think You Can Dance (Fox, 8 p.m.): This year, we’re taking a new approach to covering TV’s premier dance competition/the only place to find high-caliber dancing on TV because it’s looking less and less likely that Bunheads is coming back. While we work ourselves into a tizzy about that (such a Ginny move), Oliver Sava can explain the new approach in his review of SYTYCD’s season première.

The Mindy Project (Fox, 9:30 p.m.): Dr. Mindy Lahiri has not had as auspicious a year as her timeslot companions in Apartment 4D, but she’s getting a party tonight, too—one that celebrates her pending departure for a volunteer mission in Haiti. David Sims is already working up a “You’re killing me, Buster” banner for Arrested Development next Sunday, so can just slap a “Mindy” on the thing for tonight’s occasion.

Awkward. (MTV, 10 p.m.): “The ghosts of Jenna’s past” figure into this week’s episode somehow, which really has us hoping that it will somehow fold into those American Horror Story episode where Awkward. star Ashley Rickards played the ghost of a dead cheerleader. And then maybe her One Tree Hill character will be included as well, and Myles McNutt will be given further excuses to use the term “intertextuality.” (We’re using that correctly, right Myles?)

Grimm (NBC, 10 p.m.): With humblest apologies to Kevin McFarland, sorry that we forgot last Tuesday that Grimm has been brought in to staunch the Smash bleeding. And now that it’s primed to return to Fridays, apologies in advance for probably forgetting that move, too.

NCIS (CBS, 8 p.m.): CBS would keep the NCIS shop open year-round—and probably populate its schedule with only NCIS original formula, its various spin-offs, and The Big Bang Theory—if it could, but those pesky actors, writers, producers, and crew members demand some time off. At the very least, a hiatus must occur to re-stock Pauley Perette’s supply of Hot Topic jewelry.

Golden Boy (CBS, 10 p.m.): CBS’ fall schedule finally put some definitive answers to this time-warped cop show’s future timeline—in that it put a stop to that future, because Golden Boy has been canceled. Enjoy the show’s series finale, people of the past, present, and future!

Frontline (PBS, 10 p.m.): Frontline, always a difficult program to tell jokes about, becomes an even trickier prospect when filmmaker Marian Marzynski brings his camera to Warsaw to document the experiences of Holocaust survivors like himself. So…

Dead Of Night (ID, 10 p.m.): …instead, we’ll make two bad puns about Dead Of Night, a true-crime series that must be murder on local acting communities when it goes on hiatus—we bet everyone was dying to book a role in this season finale.

The Good Girl (Sundance, 8 p.m.): Some savvy Sundance programmer noticed the New Girl season-finale date and thought “What if we showcase one of Zooey Deschanel’s breakout roles that night?”—though apparently without realizing that any viewer who made the connection would tune out halfway through the movie to figure out what Taylor Swift’s doing at Cece’s wedding.

Kiss Of Death (TCM, 8 p.m.): Highlighted for being an essential part of any film-noir diet—but also for the hilarious-sounding short “Why Is It?” that plays afterward, a look at pet peeves that, given its lead-in, must have something to do with double-crossing dames and/or private eyes who refuse to talk in colorful lingo.

NBA Playoffs: Game 4: Knicks at Pacers (TNT, 7 p.m.): This Eastern Conference series has proven quite the see-saw, with a close Pacers victory in the first game followed by the Knicks’ 26-point win in game two. With game three determined by 11 points, our best, unscientific guess about the point deficit in this game is “78.” (That oughta cover the point spread nicely.)

How I Met Your Mother: The stature of spoiler limitations certainly hasn’t passed yet, so we won’t reveal who The Mother is—nor will we say that Ted met The Mother in this episode. We also vow not to reveal the true contents of Al Capone’s vault, a secret known only to Geraldo Rivera and Donna Bowman.
