You demanded it: Wye Oak will release their A.V. Undercover sessions next month

Some of you may have been introduced to Wye Oak through their two A.V. Undercover sessions, in which the excellent Baltimore duo breathed new life into a pair of classics: The Kinks’ “Strangers” (on which they were assisted by Shearwater’s Jonathan Meiburg) and Danzig’s “Mother.” We are delighted to announce that Merge Records—also home to Superchunk, Arcade Fire, Spoon, and lots more—will release a limited-edition seven-inch featuring the Undercover recordings of those two songs on November 22. You can go ahead and pre-order it here. If vinyl ain’t your thing, you’ll also be able to purchase the songs from your favorite digital-music retailer.

And in case you missed it, Wye Oak’s Jenn Wasner is the subject of the first episode of our new web series, One Track Mind. She discusses the band’s “Holy Holy” and offers up an awesome solo rendition. Check it out here.
