Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Thursday, April 21. All times are Eastern.

Scandal (ABC, 9 p.m.): Gwen Ihnat called the most recent episode of Scandal the grossest thing she’s ever seen on network television. Can the show recover from Olivia’s brush with homicide? We’re about to find out! In “Til Death Do Us Part,” Olivia returns to her father’s house to deal with the emotional fallout of what she’s done. Elsewhere Jake moves up his wedding date, while some flashbacks offer a look at how he became involved in B613 in the first place.
Inside Amy Schumer (Comedy Central, 10 p.m.): Inside Amy Schumer returns for its fourth season tonight. According to TV Guide, “Amy avoids having sex with her boyfriend; auditions for Lin-Manuel Miranda; and loses an eye.” That’s a lot for one woman to handle, so it’s a good thing this episode is called “The World’s Most Interesting Woman In The World.” And, hey, the fact that the premiere features a brand new Pulitzer Prize winner isn’t too shabby either. Amy tries to convince the Hamilton writer/star to help her with her own hip-hop musical about Betsy Ross. While Miranda doesn’t seem too convinced, Emily L. Stephens is more than ready to invest in Ross: The Musical.
Vikings (History Channel, 10 p.m.): The Vikings midseason finale finally offers the cage match Dennis Perkins has been waiting for: Viking vs. viking. Brother vs. brother. Ragnar vs. Rollo. Two men enter, only one man leaves. Actually, we’re not sure if only one man will leave, but according to TV Guide, the brothers will “seal their fate“ tonight—whatever that means. Perhaps the show is just going to leave the whole thing on a cliffhanger after Negan monologues for a while.
Premieres and finales
The Amazing World Of Gumball (Cartoon Network, 5:30 p.m.): Technically this is just a time slot premiere, but we’re including it here anyway because who doesn’t need more 15-minute cartoons in their lives? Tonight Gumball and Darwin help Mr. Small through a time of crisis. Also The Powerpuff Girls is on at 6 p.m. followed by Teen Titans Go! at 6:30 p.m., so consider this your official Cartoon Network time slot update.
Million Dollar Listing (Bravo, 9 p.m.): We have to give the fifth season premiere of Million Dollar Listing credit; the title “50 Shades Of Greystone” is both cheesy and dated!
Alone (History Channel, 9 p.m.): This History Channel series returns for a second season. Ten survivalists enter the Vancouver wilderness with one small backpack full of supplies. The idea is that they must survive completely alone, which means they have no camera crew and no producers with them. So unlike most survivalists, they also have to worry about framing and lighting a shot in addition to, you know, finding water and shelter. Check out Noel Murray’s glowing pre-season review.
Comedy Knockout (TruTV, 10:30 p.m.): Host Damien Lemon (Guy Code) pits three comedians against one another in a series of comedy challenges that, according to the press release, are designed to “whip the rowdy crowd into a frenzy of raucous laughter.” Oh boy! Based on audience applause, one comedian is eliminated, one is crowned champion, and one must apologize to the crowd for their shameful defeat. The first episode features Chris Distefano, Arden Myrin, and Sean Patton going head-to-head-to-head.

Girls, “Females Only” (HBO Go/HBO Now): Girls just wrapped up its stellar fifth season last weekend and Inside Amy Schumer returns for its fourth season tonight. Coincidence?!? Absolutely. But we’re nevertheless using this as an excuse to highlight Schumer’s brief guest turn on Girls. She first popped up in season two’s “On All Fours” and returns for an awkward coffee shop confrontation in season three’s “Females Only.”
