Young Widows leave blood all over “The Money”

Leeches, surgery, disease, and the ways we pay for our mistakes: They all have roles to play in the sinuous, sinister ballad “The Money.” A bonus track (debuted here) from Young Widows’ upcoming album Easy Pain, the song features the Louisville, Kentucky, trio at its best: slithering in and out of ink-black, post-punk noise while clamping down on a bluesy pulse. Meanwhile the song’s visceral, spoken-sung narrative leaves a messy trail that’s not exactly what you’d call wholesome.

Easy Pain will be released May 13 via Temporary Residence; “The Money” is a digital-only bonus track
