Your weekly A.V. Fest update is here. Now with 100% more HUM.

In case you missed the original announcement last week, we're having ourselves a lil' festival. Quick recap: It's September 10-11, and will take place outside the Hideout — you'll enter at Elston and Wabansia. One stage, two days, 12 bands, cheap admission, good food, lots of fun. A portion of the proceeds will benefit our friends at Rock For Kids. For this week's update (they're going to happen every Thursday, so be prepared), we're excited to announce that Hum has been added to the bill. Though the Champaign band hasn't really been active since the early aughts, they've been crawling above ground every few years to rock socks off. Other new additions to the lineup include Chicago's Like Pioneers and Milwaukee's Call Me Lightning and Maritime. (You'll recognize the latter from the themes to Undercover and Pop Pilgrims.) Next week we'll tell you who's playing on what day, and how ticketing will work. The week after that we'll announce the final three bands. To recap the confirmed bands: Archers Of Loaf, Hum, The Thermals, Tokyo Police Club, Eef Barzelay of Clem Snide (plays the music of Journey), Telekinesis, Maritime, Like Pioneers, Call Me Lightning. Mark your calendars!
