YouTube and the National Music Publishers Association resolve their legal fight

A four-year court battle has ended now that YouTube has agreed to pay the National Music Publishers Association a portion of its ad revenue in exchange for streaming songs. The agreement will compensate songwriters for all covers of their material. What this means for the average YouTube viewer is that you might be seeing previously blocked videos reappear on the site, though this specific arrangement doesn't apply to publishing companies controlled by EMI, Universal, Sony, and Warner.
