Zach Braff to pour a tall glass of feelings for his Garden State-like sitcom Garage Bar

As Cheers once reminded us on a weekly basis, making your way in the world today takes everything you've got, and taking a break from all your worries sure would help a lot—particularly if said break involved unwinding to a mellow indie-rock soundtrack at a bar run by Zach Braff, who will listen to those worries while pouring you a tall pint of empathy and letting you drink deeply from his big, understanding doe eyes. "Hey, don't worry, I'll just put it on your tab," Zach Braff would say. "Maybe that's what friendship is—putting things on each other's tabs, and hoping we get to pay it back later." And so forth.

Of course, ABC's new comedy Garage Bar not only won't have Braff in front of the camera—though he will serve as its writer, director, and executive producer—it isn't even about a bar, necessarily, dealing instead with a group of friends who are in turn dealing with one of their own suddenly becoming a pop star, whose songs change their lives. According to Deadline, Garage Bar will, however, boast "the heart and humor" of Braff's Garden State, like a far more sensitive Entourage. Sentimentourage, if you will. Hopefully you will, because Zach Braff could just use the company right now. You don't even have to talk. You could just, like, be there for each other.
