Now that the fictional nation of Stanistan has been dissolved into the independent states of Stani and Stan, potential cast members have been forced to flee the hypothetical country, lest they be kidnapped and interrogated by extremist TV bloggers who really care about unproduced USA pilots for some reason.
Friday Night Lights’ Zach Gilford is the first to do so, as Deadline reports that Gilford has joined an untitled ABC pilot about a politician’s son who mysteriously reappears after his equally mysterious disappearance a decade before. Gilford will play the potentially eponymous boy’s self-destructive older brother. The fates of Gilford’s would-be co-stars, Dexter’s Jennifer Carpenter and Desperate Housewives’ Jonathan Cake, have yet to be decided, but we’re sure they will be fine.
