Zachary Quinto escapes the Heroes reboot
Zachary Quinto, who first rose to fame playing charismatic serial killer Sylar on NBC’s Heroes, won’t be returning for the show’s upcoming sequel miniseries. Talking to Buzzfeed’s Kate Aurthur, Quinto said that being on the show was a “meaningful experience,” but confirmed that he wouldn’t be coming back for Heroes Reborn. “It’s a great thing to be a part of. I just felt like I need to cultivate other outlets for myself,” Quinto added, a nice way of saying, “Go away, I am a movie star now.” Quinto is joined in his ability to understand the concept of diminishing returns by fellow stars Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia, with Jack Coleman the only cast member to return for the miniseries.
As part of its “One Zachary Out, One Zachary In” policy, NBC has announced that Chuck star Zachary Levi will be stepping in to fill Quinto’s Zachary-labeled shoes as the miniseries’ star. Heroes Reborn is set to debut as a TV program this summer, and as a cautionary story about going to the well once too often a few weeks later.
