Zack De La Rocha releases El-P-produced track, “Digging For Windows”
You might be wondering what Zack De La Rocha has been up to while the rest of his old band, Rage Against The Machine, tours and records as Prophets Of Rage with Chuck D and one of the guys from Cypress Hill. Apparently, he’s been directing his visceral indignation into his first solo album, Stereogum reports. The as-yet-untitled release can be expected at some point next year, according to alt-hip-hop magnate El-P, who produced its first single, the newly released “Digging For Windows.”

It’s unknown whether the Run The Jewels member will be in the booth for the full album, or just a few tracks, or if this is it. For all we know, De La Rocha has entrusted each song to a different super-producer. But this one is so good, such prime ZDR, that it seems unlikely that fans would have a problem with El-P cranking out the whole thing.
In case you’re interested, Matt Sweeney and Nick Hook popped into the recording studio to lend their expertise in guitars and keys. The song is available as a free bittorrent download here.
