Zayn is releasing an autobiographical scrapbook, Zayn
In a total Zayn move, former One Direction singer Zayn Malik (who just goes by Zayn now) is releasing an autobiography titled Zayn. After leaving his boy band brothers last year, Zayn wasted no time at all in launching his solo career and making a name for himself outside of the group. In fact, Zayn released his first solo album Mind Of Mine on March 25, 2016—exactly a year after One Direction formally announced his departure, which is either a bizarre coincidence or (more likely) a pointed “fuck you.”
According to Zayn’s website, the upcoming autobiography “shares a photographic journey of his life since leaving One Direction” in the form of a “collection of thoughts, inspiration, and never-before-seen personal photographs.” It’s a tell-all and a show-all according to the description, which also likens Zayn to a “raw scrapbook,” which is perhaps the edgiest a scrapbook has ever sounded. Zayn will include “Zayn’s notes, drawings, song lyrics, and personal stories” in addition to those intimate photos. So, yeah, Zayn’s releasing an “autobiography,” and it’s just a glorified scrapbook. Hopefully it will be a scrapbook full of drama, though. Give us more than just studio selfies, Zayn.
“I’m going to show you as much as I can so that you can judge me on my own terms, not on what the press or anyone else says,” Zayn writes in Zayn’s opening pages. The stakes are always so high, and the chill factor is always so low with Zayn.
Zayn drops on November 1 and is currently available for pre-order.
