Zelda: Breath Of The Wild has a pretty crappy prize in store for completionists
As anyone who’s played The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild has realized by now, there are hundreds of funny little tree people hiding all over its massive world. Known as Koroks, these critters wait under rocks or out of sight until you solve their simple puzzles. When you find them, they yell, “Ya ha ha,” a greeting attentive players will hear so often it becomes maddening, and hand over a seed Link can trade to give his invisible backpack more room for swords and shields. Apparently, there are 900 of these little guys to find, an absolutely insane number that all but the most dedicated of completionists probably won’t even come close to approaching. But of course, less than two weeks after the game’s release, someone has already gone and done it. A Reddit user named xxFateAwaitsxx tracked down all 900 seeds and shared a screenshot of the fabulous prize that awaits anyone willing to undertake this arduous task.
Yep. When you turn in the final seed, Hestu, the maraca-loving tree dude who collects those Korok remnants, gives you what appears to be a golden pile of shit. The description even notes that “it smells pretty bad.” It doesn’t appear to have any function other than reminding you of all the time you wasted collecting those seeds and making you reconsider whether those seeds, with their “distinct smell,” are really “seeds” at all. And in case you were wondering if this were an elaborate hoax, xxFateAwaitsxx also shared a video of the moment Link receives Hestu’s Gift, captured by pointing a camera at his TV screen, so yes, this appears to be real.
