A year ago, Zoë Kravitz was, at best, “that stripper who had insect wings for some reason in X-Men: First Class.” (At worse, she was constantly being confused with Zoe Kazan.) Now, though, she seems to be in every other movie that goes into production. Keeping with that trend, she was just added to the cast of David E. Kelley and HBO’s Big Little Lies as a spiritual yoga instructor who is married to the ex-husband of a character played by Reese Witherspoon. Kravitz will also be acting alongside Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, and Adam Scott in the limited series adapted from Liane Moriarty’s darkly comic novel about three mothers whose enviable lives fall apart with deadly results.
Kravitz—the daughter of musician Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet—has really come into her own in 2015 with six film roles, including in the critically acclaimed Dope and Mad Max: Fury Road. On top of that, she was cast as a Civil War-era bounty hunter in the western Black Belle, which should reach theaters next year, and is filming her second installment of Red Wagon’s Divergent series. So, she’s already got the jump on 2016.
