A bunch of Rick And Morty characters are getting one-shot comics
If you were heartbroken by the utter annihilation of the Vindicators on Rick And Morty this season, cheer up because there’s a one-shot comic in your future. Oni Press announced a whole line of one-shots featuring Rick And Morty characters, including the vanquished superheroes who, okay, were kind of dicks, but whose biggest offense seemed to be making Rick jealous.
Written by J. Torres, the series will debut with Vindicator stories on March 7, 2018. Here’s some of the cover art:
If you look closely, you can see that, in addition to Supernova, Noob-Noob, and Vance Maximus, Pickle Rick makes a return appearance. Geek has a synopsis, which sees the characters “develop a team when the heroes make a terrible mistake and create a villain.” That sounds about right for this particular group of crimefighters. Despite that, Oni Press promises you’ll “gasp in shock and awe as the plot twists and previously irrelevant characters revive the dead” and “frown in frustration as you forget the complicated backstory of suddenly important mythic items.”
After the Vindicators’ storyline, there will be one-shots (at 40 pages each) dedicated to Krombopulos Michael, Sleepy Gary, as well as a new adventure for Pickle Rick and Jaguar.
