Amazon investigating sexual harassment claims against Jeffrey Tambor
Deadline reports Amazon has launched an investigation into claims that Jeffrey Tambor sexually harassed his former assistant. Van Barnes, a trans woman, recently wrote a private Facebook post in which, according to Deadline, she alluded to “inappropriate behavior” on the Transparent star’s behalf. That’s really all the press knows at this time, since the post isn’t available to the public. But Amazon, which was rocked by a sexual harassment scandal at its highest ranks earlier this year, tells the publication it is launching a complete investigation.
Tambor has already denied the allegations to Deadline in the following statement:
I am aware that a former disgruntled assistant of mine has made a private post implying that I had acted in an improper manner toward her. I adamantly and vehemently reject and deny any and all implication and allegation that I have ever engaged in any improper behavior toward this person or any other person I have ever worked with. I am appalled and distressed by this baseless allegation.
In October, The Man In The High Castle and Electric Dreams producer Isa Dick Hackett said she’d been sexually harassed by Amazon exec Roy Price. The company soon put him on leave, with Price himself resigning just days later.
