AMC developing drama series about Black Lives Matter

As reported by Deadline, AMC has started developing a drama series based on Wesley Lowery’s They Can’t Kill Us All: Ferguson, Baltimore, And A New Era In America’s Racial Justice, which details how decades of institutional racism led to high-profile police brutality incidents and the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement. Lowery is also a writer for The Washington Post who worked on the paper’s deadly police shooting database, a project that won a Pulitzer Prize last year. The TV version of They Can’t Kill Us All—which might not be the final title—comes from Turn: Washington’s Spies, Parenthood, and Into The Badlands writer LaToya Morgan, who will also be producing the series alongside Brad Weston and his indie studio Makeready.
