Avengers: Infinity War is the longest Marvel movie to date

There are several questions we hope are answered in Avengers: Infinity War, including, but not limited to, where’s the Soul Stone? How long did it take Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) to grow that beard? And will we get to see Shuri (Letitia Wright), who almost certainly designed Bucky’s (Sebastian Stan) new arm?

One query that’s already been answered is whether a movie called Infinity War will in fact be the longest Marvel movie to date. Dark Horizons took a look at AMC theaters’ listed runtime for the third Avengers movie, and at 156 minutes, it’s the most extensive entry in the MCU. It makes sense for a film that will see Earth’s mightiest heroes taking on Thanos (Josh Brolin), a fight that requires everyone from the Guardians Of The Galaxy to General Okoye (Danai Gurira). Clearly, directors Anthony and Joe Russo needed those two hours and 36 minutes to give everyone of the the approximately bajillion superheroes a little screentime.

Marvel will wage its Infinity War in theaters on April 27.
