Behold: Photographic evidence that the Supernatural/Scooby-Doo crossover is actually happening
Lest you think this particular corporate mash-up was simply the product of some kind of fever dream—and not, say, a creative team tossing up their hands and saying “Fuck it, why not?” 13 seasons in—we now have photographic evidence that the Supernatural/Scooby-Doo crossover is actually happening. Said photos come courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, and feature not just Supernatural star Jensen Ackles in a Freddy-style ascot, but also animated version of the Winchester boys and their angel buddy Castiel.
EW also had a brief description of the episode’s plot, in which a magic TV apparently drags the brothers into the world of the Hanna-Barbera classic, where Dean quickly goes gaga for his childhood crush, Daphne. (Cue a million Supernatural fans losing their goddamn minds at this provocation against their various ‘ships.) Things apparently get “pretty dark” as the brothers attempt to weather their cartoon adventures, although, to be fair, the bar has already been set pretty high when it comes to screwed-up modern TV takes on classic Scooby-Doo tropes.
“Scoobynatural” airs on The CW on Thursday, March 29.
