Beyoncé turned down a small role in the live-action Beauty And The Beast movie
As the world awaits the next project from Beyoncé, who was last seen lending her godlike powers to fundraising efforts for Puerto Rico, Yahoo! News has some info on the role that never came to fruition. Apparently, the Grammy winner considered joining Bill Condon’s live-action Beauty And The Beast film, which debuted earlier this year. The director had previously worked with Beyoncé on Dreamgirls, and so naturally, he wanted to collaborate once more when he lined up another musical.
When asked about his plans to include the platinum-selling artist, Condon tells Yahoo! News “Isn’t that weird? God, it seems crazy!” Unfortunately, the role Condon was offering “wasn’t a big enough part. She would have been a good feather duster.” Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who’s co-leading Ava DuVernay’s A Wrinkle In Time adaptation, was ultimately cast in the role.
