Charles In Charge’s Nicole Eggert accuses Scott Baio of molesting her when she was 14
On Twitter over the weekend, former Baywatch star Nicole Eggert accused her Charles In Charge co-star Scott Baio of molesting her from when she was 14 up until she turned 17. Eggert was responding to someone who had made a comment about Baio’s support for Donald Trump, saying, “Ask [Scott Baio] what happened in his garage at his house when I was a minor. Creep.”
This is according to The Hollywood Reporter, which adds that Eggert elaborated on her claims a bit more in a series of since-deleted tweets, referring to herself as a “molested child” in one and sharing details of the alleged assault in another. Baio quickly moved to deny the allegations in a Facebook video, with his wife also noting on Twitter that their legal team had served Eggert with multiple cease and desist letters:
Baio also posted a message on Facebook in which he further denies Eggert’s claims, saying he has proof that she made up the allegations in 2013 so she could supposedly get a TV show of some sort. He also holds up the fact that Eggert hasn’t gone to the police about her accusations as proof that she’s lying, and in one odd note he says that he’s “not inclined to do additional media” on these allegations, but he’s “holding [his] options open.”
THR notes that Eggert and Baio briefly dated in the ’80s when they were on the show together, and she has previously said that she lost her virginity to Baio when she was 17.
