2017 has been a kick in whatever body part you deem the most vulnerable. It’s the equivalent of being slammed against a concrete wall by the psionic powers of a genetically altered tween, something we’ve seen go down on Stranger Things, and now, in the teaser for Dave Chappelle’s new stand-up special, Equanimity.
After a clip in which Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) knocks around some doors and security guards, Chappelle cheerfully walks into the scene to ask the bloody-nosed girl to do the same to him. Is he a glutton for punishment, or, as a soothsaying comedian, is he just more capable of rolling with the punches than the rest of us? That’s certainly what the title suggests. We’ll find out when Dave Chappelle: Equanimity premieres December 31 on Netflix.
