Disney pushes its live-action Mulan remake to 2020

Apparently, Disney’s decision to bump the release of Avengers: Infinity War up a week was the result of one of those twisted “Monkey’s Paw” wishes, as the company has also just announced that its live-action Mulan remake is going to be significantly delayed. That comes from Deadline, which says Mulan is being moved to March 27, 2020, after originally being penciled in for release this November. Disney had previously suggested that it would get bumped to 2019, but this move officially knocks it back by almost two years. This kind of wild shakeup is relatively common for Disney, which shifted a lot of projects around last April to make room for a ton of unannounced Marvel movies and live-action remakes of older Disney films.

Deadline doesn’t give a specific reason for the Mulan delay, but Disney once again has a ton of unannounced Marvel movies and live-action remakes on its schedule. Whenever Mulan does come out, it might be a musical and it will star Liu Yifei as the eponymous hero.
