Don't expect to learn anything at the Fifty Shades Of Grey "museum"
First of all, just to clarify: F I F T Y (yes, it’s spelled like that, with the spaces and everything) is a “museum” in the Museum Of Ice Cream sense, in that it’s an elaborate installation piece designed specifically to serve as Instagram-bait. In other words, it’s about as educational as the Fifty Shades Of Grey series in terms of imparting wisdom on safe and sane BDSM practices and/or narrative structure, which is to say, not at all.
But if you’re in Los Angeles and interested in taking selfies next to some screen-used floggers, then you can make a reservation to tour what Universal’s press release calls an “immersive installation [featuring] custom art pieces, along with costumes and props from the films” here. The Fifty Shades experience will only be open for three days next weekend, Friday, February 2 through Sunday, February 4, from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. local time. Or you could just buy yourself a Chronicles Of Riddick poster and some Ben Wa balls on Amazon and have yourself a real party. It’s up to you.
