Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam might be introduced in Suicide Squad 2

We’ve been waiting a long time to see Dwayne Johnson finally join the superhero movie world as Black Adam, but at least the movie about his longtime nemesis Shazam is moving forward. That means it shouldn’t be too much longer before we get to see The Rock slipping into some black tights and roasting some dudes with his lightning powers, there might be some good news for people who just can’t wait to see that happen. As it turns out, Black Adam might be appearing in the DC movies much sooner than whenever his solo film is supposed to hit theaters.

This comes from The Wrap, which says “two insiders familiar with the idea” have told the site that Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam might actually appear in Suicide Squad 2. Apparently, the current pitch for the sequel is that it will revolve around Harley Quinn and her team of lovable/hatable/forgettable misfits trying to hunt down a lost “weapon of mass destruction”—with the weapon turning out to be none other than Black Adam. This is all unconfirmed at this point, but The Wrap does point toward a Fandango interview in which Johnson teased that Black Adam would be introduced in a cool and surprising way.

It’s also worth noting that bringing Johnson to Suicide Squad 2 could be a weirdly elaborate attempt to troll Jaume Collet-Serra, who was previously attached to direct the movie but left so he could make Disney’s Jungle Cruise movie with none other than Dwayne Johnson. Huge movies like this aren’t usually that petty, especially since Warner Bros. already got a different director, but nobody really knows how movies like Suicide Squad get made anyway.
