E! announces new Rose McGowan docuseries
According to Deadline, the E! network is giving Rose McGowan a five-part documentary series called Citizen Rose that “looks at the world through the artist/activist’s eyes.” McGowan, who accused Harvey Weinstein of raping her and is one of the more prominent figures in the #MeToo movement, said in a statement that she wants to use the series to “show how we can heal through art even when being hounded by evil.” The series will follow her as she prepares to release Brave, her “memoir/manifesto,” and as she continues to take part in a “special punk brand of activism.” In a statement of its own, E! said it’s looking forward to “taking viewers inside this talented, dynamic woman’s world as the first allegations unfold and she becomes a leading voice in a critical cultural change.”
Citizen Rose will premiere on January 30 with a two-hour special, with the remaining four installments coming in the spring.
