EA reveals the new look of Star Wars Battlefront

It’s been a big couple of days for Star Wars news, with the Star Wars Celebration in full swing in Anaheim, California. And while the trailer for the new Star Wars Battlefront video game may not have the impact of yesterday’s second teaser for The Force Awakens, it features more than enough familiar settings and faces to excite anyone who pumped innumerable quarters into the 1983 arcade game—featuring then-revolutionary vector graphics— at their local Showbiz Pizza.

The graphics featured in the new teaser feel more realistic than anything out of The Phantom Menace, and, like much of the recent Star Wars marketing (which now includes a fucking airplane), concentrates on classic Star Wars environments. The forest moon of Endor, the ice planet of Hoth, and Beggar’s Canyon over on Tatooine are all featured prominently. (Hopefully bullseyeing two-meter womprats will be an option.) There even appears to be a new environment resembling a shot from the new trailer, on the planet where The First Order—the new iteration of the Galactic Empire—is having a rally. The majority of the trailer takes place on the sanctuary moon and features an Y-Wings bombing an AT-AT, Sullustan rebels, and Darth Vader, Dark Lord Of The Sith, who is definitely not preventing forest fires.

The new Battlefront game reportedly provides a link between Return Of The Jedi and The Force Awakens, and hopefully also between Star Wars: Rebel Assault and Parker Brothers’ Star Wars: Jedi Arena.

Star Wars Battlefront will be released on November 17th for PS4, PC ,and Xbox One.
