See How the World is Connected in EARBUDS: THE PODCASTING DOCUMENTARY
September is almost here, and with it comes The 2015 Los Angeles Podcast Festival, this year presented by Audible. Among a slew of live podcast recordings from Doug Loves Movies to Never Not Funny (both favorites of the Podmass crew) and many in between, Ear Buds: The Podcasting Documentary will have two preview screenings. The documentary, which was successfully funded by 1,606 backers on Kickstarter, follows comedians and podcasters Graham Elwood and Chris Mancini as they explore “the surprising personal connection between podcasters and fans.” As hosts of the podcast Comedy Film Nerds, Elwood and Mancini speak to this personal connection, “As podcasters ourselves, we’ve gotten to know the fans, often personally, and they have gotten to know us. People have told us we have helped them get through rough times, even though on the surface we are just talking about movies. So there is a connection there that we are humbled by,” which inspired them to travel the world interviewing other comedians and podcasters and, most importantly, podcast fans.
